Structured cabling is a fundamental building block of the communication
networks critical to every organisation. SEC Data and Telecommunications builds the data and
voice cabling infrastructures that offer reliable support for the
communication networks of today and tomorrow.
Wherever communications are needed, a cabling infrastructure is required
to support it. Provision of structured cabling in a premises provides
users the flexibility to connect to their data and voice services,
wherever they are located.
Copper Cabling
Twisted-pair copper cabling, either unshielded or shielded (UTP or STP) is
currently the most cost effective media used for links to the desktop.
EIA/TIA Cat5e, Cat6 & Cat7 are the standard of copper cabling systems in
use today. The warranty offered on each cabling system is a key factor in
deciding which technologies the infrastructure will support in the future.
Fibre-Optic Systems
Fibre-optic cabling offers far greater bandwidth and drive distances over
that of copper systems. Typical applications are backbone connections
between communications and wiring cabinets, both within buildings and
between sites. Fibre-optic systems provide high security and immunity to
electro-magnetic interference. As bandwidth demands continue to grow, we
feel fibre-optic cabling will increasingly become the standard cabling
medium to the desktop.
Campus Networks
SEC Data and Telecommunications offers the resource and total capability to design and install
inter-building links of any scale and in all environments.
